Position Context
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Head Chef will be responsible to ensuring meals are prepared timely using set standard recipes with the aim of maximizing revenue and minimizing wastage.
Specific duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Ordering food stuff
- Food preparation, cooking and presentation
- Ensuring cleanliness of the cafeteria at all times
- Making sure there are no infections by use of equipment
- Ensuring compliance to the menu
- Offering options to patients and staff
- Managing waste from the cafeteria
- Mis-en-place
Educational Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma in Food Production or equivalent from an accredited institution
- A good Malawi School Certificate of Education
- At least three years hands on experience in a related field.
Requisite knowledge, Abilities and skill
- Must possess the ability to multitask
- Must be able to give attention to detail
- Must instill hygiene and cleanliness all around
- Must have good interpersonal relationship skills
- Willingness to work at odd hours.
- Effective communication skills
- Must be a team player
- Must be able to handle high stress environment
- Must have problem solving skills
- Must be able to work independently
