Mwaiwathu Private Hospital invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Maintenance Team Leader tenable at the Hospital along Chileka Road in Blantyre.
Position Context
Reporting to the Operations Officer, the Maintenance Team Leader will provide leadership and supervision of the maintenance team to ensure that all Hospital equipment, machines and facilities are always functional and faults are identified and resolved promptly.
Specific duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Installing new machines perfectly and effectively
- Inspecting hospital equipment and facilities on regular basis
- Resolving technical faults on machines and facilities timely
- Developing and executing preventive maintenance plan and checklist
- Managing departmental stocks
- Maintaining equipment database
- Supervising and coaching Maintenance Team effectively
- Preparing departmental budget and adhering to it
- Preparing and submitting monthly and ad-hoc reports timely
Educational Qualifications and Experience
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Bio-medical Engineering or related field
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Hospital equipment and facilities management
Requisite knowledge, abilities and skills
- Hands on experience in equipment repair and maintenance
- Ability to interpret wiring diagrams
- Team player
- Familiar with occupation, health and safety rules
- Able to use testing, hand and power tools
- Must be computer literate
- Problem solving skills
- Must be honest and trustworthy
- Good communication skills
